Covering Tin Lids with Photographic Collage Paper

Recently, I bought some small tins at Dollar Tree store.  No particular project in mind but just in case....I always like to have craft stuff on hand!

I decided to try gluing Tim Holtz new Photographic Collage Paper to the lids.  That collage paper with all the vintage photos is my favorite!

First, I painted lids with Gesso.  Once it was dry, I used Distress Collage Medium to apply layers of Photographic Collage Paper to each lid.  I used 2 different images on each tin.  The man and boys has an image of buildings and postmark behind image of man and boys.  That scene is very subtle.  The other tin has house image collaged to lid first and then image of women over it.  I roughly fussy cut around the women which makes the house more visible.  I rubbed on some Distress inks to add sky color and age the edges (Vintage Photo and Broken China).

I'm super pleased with how these turned out!

I'm still pondering how to seal the ink so that it doesn't rub off.  It will need to be a solvent based product so it doesn't react with the ink.  Until then, I'm enjoying them just as they are setting on my craft table to admire!

Friendship Watercolor Flowers Card

Today, I posted this card to Scrapbook Adhesives byby 3L Blog.

I used flowers that I painted with watercolors and then added doodle details. They are one of my go-to things iwhen I need a card.  I learned the basics for making them in Fodder School and then put my own twist on them....of course!

I used pieces from my stash of leftover scraps under the flowers, embossed white cardstock and pink  painted cardstock.

All the details about this card are on Scrapbook Adhesives blog - HERE.

Thanks for stopping!

Watercolor Flowers Friend Card

Cards with my own watercolor flowers have become my favorite cards to make!  As long as I have flowers painted and ready in my collage fodder notebook, these cards are easy to make.

If you follow me on Instagram, I sometimes post photos of these flowers in process.  I start by painted simple shapes to form a flower shape.  Once it's dry, I add outlines and details with a black Uni-Ball Signo pen and a white one.  That's when the flowers gain their personality!  Thanks to @TiffanySimplySharpe and @WillaWanders for Fodder School class where I learned a few techniques to get started making flowers!

The oval white background was left over from another project. I found a piece of pink paper to coordinate with my flowers and stamped a grid pattern on it with white ink. The flowers are fastened in place with 3D Foam Squares.  I fussy cut the verse after stamping with black ink.  It's from Penny Black. It's also fastened with 3D Foam Squares.  I tucked a pearl cotton bow under the flowers.

Mini Watercolor Flowers Card

I wrote this post and never published it!  Not sure how I did that!
I posted this project on Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L on January 29, 2023.  There's link below in my post to go there.

Hello friends!

Today, I have a card posted on Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Blog featuring mini die cut flowers that have been colored with watercolors.  I chose not to use all the die-cut pieces for centers and shading and instead painted shading and centers. I love how pretty the colors are on that tiny envelope!

Flower dies are from Sizzix Tim Holtz Brushstroke Flowers, Mini and the envelope is from Postale. The stamp for definition and verse are from Heidi Swapp February Agenda.  I used Distress Oxide inks Forest Moss, Uncharted Mariner and Lumberjack Plaid for stamping.  The "Just for You" is an old stamp that I have.  Those words could easily be handwritten instead.

You can find all the directions with step out photos HERE.

Love Tag with Glue Resist Background

 Hello crafty friends!

I tried a glue resist for the background on this tag.  It's quite easy and worked well.  Simply sponge glue through a stencil, allow to dry and then rub Distress Archival Ink over it.

I posted all the directions with photos on Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog.  Click HERE to go to blog post.

Snowmen Winter Note Cards

Hello! As I write this, it's been crazy cold and snowy in Minnesota!  Way too COLD!  With that on my mind, I was inspired to make some Snowmen Winter Note Cards.  They're easy and quick!  Perfect for a note to brighten someone's day!

I used a super easy technique to make the backgrounds on these cards with crumpled tissue paper. Do you save tissue paper? I do!  I liked the color of this teal tissue paper so I saved it. It's been laying around in my craft room waiting to be used.  It made a wonderful textured background!

I used  Adhesive Sheets 4x6 inch applied to front of each card.  Next, after peeling the liner from adhesive, I pressed the card on crumpled tissue paper.  After turning it over, I pressed it firmly in place and trimmed excess tissue from edges.
