Graphic 45 Twellve Days of Christmas Book Box, Cards and Tags

Sponsored: As a designer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, I receive product to use for projects.

This week Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®  and Graphic 45® have paired up to share some holiday inspiration.  There will be projects featured every day on Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Blog.  My project is Twelve Days of Christmas Book Box with Cards and Tags.  It's made with products from both companies.

All the papers are from Graphic 45® The Twelve Days of Christmas – Deluxe Collectors Edition  of paper, stickers, and chipboard shapes. The box is also from Graphic 45. It's shaped as a book.  It comes with 3 large tags and book ring.  I decorated it with various papers and a chipboard piece on the front.

The box front features a chipboard shape with circle insert.  I traced the outer edge on ivory cardstock and cut out for a mat.

The center is popped up with  3D Foam Circles Black Mix.  These work so well on a round shape!

The box is covered with layers of contrast papers all fastened with a combination of

I made the tags into gift card holders with papers, stickers and chipboard pieces from the collection.

The gift card pocket is made from paper cut 3 x 8.5 inches.  One end is folded 2" in and other 2 3/4". The longer end forms the top flap.  The shorter end is fastened at edges with Home and Hobby Premium Double-Sided Tape ⅛ʺ Permanent  to form a pocket.  Each tag features different papers from The Twelve Days of Christmas – Deluxe Collectors Edition from Graphic 45®.

On this tag, the papers behind the pocket have rounded corners.  I  a sticker and contrast borders to the flap. It also has rounded corners. Two chipboard circles are fastened over seam binding with Adhesive Dots Ultra Thin.  I've fastened all the papers and the pocket to the tag using  E-Z Runner® Ultra Refillable Dispenser

This is the inside showing the pocket.

This tag has a border made of Creative Photo Corners Gold along with contrast papers and a sticker.  The chipboard button at top has seam binding bow.  That's fastened with Adhesive Dots Ultra Thin.

The inside of this tag showing a gift card in the pocket.  You can see the photo corner edge which is covered on the inside with a contrast paper.

This tag also has a border created with Creative Photo Corners Gold.  A tag is tied at top with red twine.

I added a sticker on the pocket.

I made some Christmas cards as well to fill the box.  I used images from one sheet of paper and fastened them to 4 x 6" ivory cards. All papers were fastened to card with E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser

Each one has Creative Photo Corners Gold plus various chipboard pieces, stickers, seam binding, and twine.

This card has gold foil accents on the chipboard piece.  I applied dots of adhesive with E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser around the chipboard edges.  Then gold foil from 3D Foam Holiday Embellishment Kit was placed over adhesive and rubbed to transfer it.  Just that small touch of gold highlights the chipboard piece and adds a touch of elegance.  The chipboard piece is popped up with Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix

I simply added a twine bow over the printed bow on the this card held in place with Adhesive Dots Micro.  These are the perfect size for a tiny bow!

This card has the same technique with E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser and gold foil. It's applied around the chipboard tag and also along the card edges.  That touch of gold really dresses it up! The chipboard tag with seam binding bow is fastened with Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix.

This card features a chipboard tag with twine bow fastened in place with Thin 3D Foam Squares Black Mix.  I added a seam binding bow and chipboard circle fastened with Adhesive Dots Ultra Thin.

All fit into the box!  I tucked in some envelopes, which fit the tags as well, and it makes a nice gift!  Or a perfect storage for cards waiting to be sent to family and friends!

An Embossed and Gilded Tag

I finally took time this evening to make something just for my blog!!!  It's been a very long time.......  Thanks and big hugs to all my loyal followers who haven't given up on me!!!

So tonight I set out to do a quick tag.....

The embossing was quick!  The rest was a bit more involved!

I used one of Spellbinders new 3D M-Bossabilities folders to emboss a manilla tag!  The embossing is amazing!  Very deep!  This pattern is E3D-005 Ornamental Swirls.  The folder embosses a 5 x 7" area.  I used just the bottom of it for my tag.  At the top I embossed lines using just a portion of EL-026 Framed Petite Labels (not 3D).  Okay, that was the easy part!!!

Next, I rubbed on Baroque Art Gilders Paste.  I just recently added a few of these to my stash.  The shine is amazing after buffing. I don't think they were exactly developed for paper but they work!

I started with Patina.

Then I added Blue Iris......

Pretty cool!  Except I didn't exactly like the tag color showing in the deep areas of the embossing.  So I decide to try Tattered Angels Pomegranate Glimmer Mist over the tag.  The Gilders Paste is a waxy product so I expected it to repel the Glimmer Mist.

It did repel the color in some areas.  Other areas absorbed more than I wanted.  The question: Start over or keep adding color?   I added more color!!

I dried the Glimmer Mist.  Then I added more Gilders Paste.  I added Antique Gold next.  Then more Iris Blue and even a touch of Copper.  I kept rubbing on color, buffing it and adding more until it was "okay".  I needed to get it done so I could go to bed!  LOL!

Once I added the ribbon and tag, I loved the colors!

The frame part of the tag was cut from white cs.  I sprayed it with Pomegranate Glimmer Mist and added a touch of Iris Blue Gilders Paste around the edges.  The greeting from Quietfire Designs is stamped on pale sage card stock and glued behind.  Both tags are from Spellbinders S4-392 Framed Tags One.  Love these tags because there's a cut out for each one that's also a tag in itself.  You can see the set here

The sheer ribbon is from May Arts.  I tied the tag on with gold thread.

The color is wonderful but the most amazing part is the detail and incredible dimensional effect of the embossing created with the 3D M-Bossabilities folder!  You will love these!!!

A Sewing Tag

I put together this sewing tag with bits and pieces that I cut while demoing at CHA.  All these shapes are new Spellbinders die templates layered onto a #8 manilla tag.

The sewing machine and buttons are from a new set by Nina B Designs for Spellbinders, S5-088 Sewing Elements.  I cut it from scratch art board made by Royal Langenickel.  I sanded the embossed areas to reveal the copper color.  It's perfect for this vintage sewing machine!  The words "Made for You" are cut from the same board.  They are from a new Donna Salazar set called Girlie Grunge Labels, Spellbinders S5-084.   Under the sewing machine is a brown scrap of thin wood.  Yes, it's actual wood that's very thin.  I stained it with Distress ink.  I didn't use a die template to cut it, rather it's what was left after I cut notebook edge strip from Becky Fleck's S4-359 Office Supplies set.  The striped piece was cut with a die template from Spellbinders S5-094 Labels and Tags.  The background print shape is a new shape from S5-096 Jar Labels.  Behind that I added a piece of Kraft paper cut with the largest of a new oval set, S4-356 Floral Ovals.   It's one of my favorites of the new shapes!   I stamped the tag with a sewing stamp by Tim Holtz and added Distress inks to the edges.   I tied on some seam binding ( appropriate, huh???) and a scrap of lace fabric.

This was fun to put together!!!  A scrap tag!

Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas

Have you seen the tags Tim Holtz is showing on his blog? He's doing 12 tags of Christmas. Great photos of the steps. Lots of technique tips.

Check them out! They're incredible!

I'm certainly inspired to create something.
