Time to Celebrate Birthday Card

Hello friends!

I'm sharing a masculine birthday card today.  I'm so happy with how this turned out!

The patterned papers are from Photo Play Collection Birthday Bash.  I like the colors! The greeting panel is a sticker with added navy and yellow mats.

The fun part was making the glazed stars!  Stars are 3D Foam Stars covered with Distress Embossing Glaze Fossilized Amber and heated carefully. They have a little shine and texture.  I don't mind that stars curl a little when heated.  It adds to the charm of this card.

You can find lots more details and directions for making this card at Scrapbook Adhesives Blog today.

Christmas Cookie Bag Topper

 Hello friends!

Do you make cookies to give as gifts during the holidays?  I like to give some to a few family friends. This year I decided to make a Cookie Bag Topper to make them festive.

I've posted all the details with instructions and photos showing how I made this on Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog today.  You can click HERE to the the post

It's an easy project that can be done in steps to fit into a busy schedule.

Once the "cookies" are die cut and assembled, putting the topper together goes quickly.

Of course, baking the cookies to put in the bag take more time!  But oh so good!

Snowmen Winter Note Cards

Hello! As I write this, it's been crazy cold and snowy in Minnesota!  Way too COLD!  With that on my mind, I was inspired to make some Snowmen Winter Note Cards.  They're easy and quick!  Perfect for a note to brighten someone's day!

I used a super easy technique to make the backgrounds on these cards with crumpled tissue paper. Do you save tissue paper? I do!  I liked the color of this teal tissue paper so I saved it. It's been laying around in my craft room waiting to be used.  It made a wonderful textured background!

I used  Adhesive Sheets 4x6 inch applied to front of each card.  Next, after peeling the liner from adhesive, I pressed the card on crumpled tissue paper.  After turning it over, I pressed it firmly in place and trimmed excess tissue from edges.

All the details are on Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Blog.  Just click HERE to go there.

Thankful Card with Foil Leaves

Hello everyone! I'm back with another Scrapbook Adhesives project.  It's hard to believe that it's the end of August!  It will soon be fall with all it's glorious colors!  That's my inspiration for this card.

You can find all the step out photos and directions on Scrapbook Adhesives blog - HERE.

Here's a peek of how I used foil for the letter squares which are Thin 3D Foam Squares with die cut letters on them

and foil on 3D Foam Leaves.

I like to use a heat gun to heat the leaves after applying the foil.  It adds a slight texture and mellows the color a tiny bit.

Thanks for stopping!
Happy Creating!

Judy

Amazing Paper Grace July Die of the Month Blog Hop

We're so tickled to get to show you a new Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month.  For July Becca created Graceful Concertina.  It's a die that has tabs on the side so that you can link each panel together to make a concertina card.  Don't stop there though, there's much more that can be made.   Cut the side tabs off to make a votive candle holder or a box or a book cover.  Please join us as we bring you more inspiration.

When I first saw the July Die of the Month, I immediately thought of a wrought iron garden gate.  So I decided to make a garden gate card using black card stock to show off the beauty of Graceful Concertina die!  I really like the arched top of the large die. The outer die can be used with the intricate die cut in the center or left open.  Since the outer die is separate, it can used to cut a solid piece to fit behind the intricate arched shape.  To me, that makes it more versatile.
July APG Die of Month - Graceful Concertina

My Project Today:

On my card front, I used an arch cut from black card stock layered over a pretty floral paper. I cut off tabs of both pieces.  With the outer inset die, I cut green paper to fit in the opening of the arch "gate".  I also cut the same shape from black card stock and cut off the top to fit at top of the verse to fill in peak area on arch.  I use Adhesive Sheets on back of my card stock so it's easy to fasten such an intricate piece to the paper behind.  The flowers are made with Cinch and Go V die.  I rubbed a touch of pink ink over petals of larger ones and left small centers white.  The back of the card is cut with outer large die from black card stock, and floral paper.  I turned over the black piece so tabs were on left.  I cut tabs off of the floral paper and fastened it over black piece.  I added an arch same as on front with inset cut from white card stock for a place to write a note.  The tabs are fastened to front of card with Extreme Double-Sided Tape.  I also added intricate inset with top cut off to inside of card front.

My card was my inspiration for a gift bag/box.  The front and back are basically made with same papers and die cuts as the card except I added the center intricate die panel instead of a verse. I also cut a black solid piece to put behind floral paper.  It adds strength and covers the back of the patterned paper.  To make it into a box, I cut a piece of black card stock 3 x 10.5 inches.  I scored  long edges .5 inch from each edge and I scored 3.5 inch from each end.  I cut notches where the score lines crossed to make flaps along the edge for fastening to front and back of box.  The piece goes from one side across bottom and up other side.  Panels cut with inner dies are fastened over each side.

Both the card and box make me think of a pretty garden with an ornate wrought iron fence!

Introducing Vintage Treasures Blog Hop

Sponsored - As a designer for Amazing Paper Grace, I  receive dies to create projects.   I'm also a designer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and receive product to use for projects.

We are so tickled today to be introducing  Vintage Treasures .  You'll find this collection chocked full of classics!!  As always, there is a rectangle, oval, square and circle that will work well with everything in your stash and are perfect for layering.  Next are several embellishment sets.  As you hop through all the links in the blog hop, you'll see all the new dies and how we used them.

Inspiration for Vintage Treasures
There is a special place in our hearts for those things kept in a hope chest.  Other than a promise of the future, they symbolize things of value and keepsakes that bring back treasured memories.  I delved there to find memories, filigree jewelry and keepsakes of old.  From long-forgotten turn of the century jewelry to the edgings on an old tattered handkerchief, I love bringing the past into the present in a style that is ....well, timeless.  These things -- bejeweled lockets, a sweet tiara and vintage adornments from long ago -- provided the sweet inspiration and restoration of some lovely, lovely Vintage Treasures.

The physical dies in this collection have an extra measure of flexibility and function.  Most templates have an outer rim, an inlay and an inner rim that you can use for your sentiment.

My First Project For Today:

I'm pleased to introduce  S5-394 Nobel Chatelaine

I also used Cinch and Go V to make my flowers.

I made a Mother's Day card and gift basket with this beautiful new die from Vintage Treasures Collection.

These dies can be combined in so many ways for projects. So pretty to layer on a 5 x 7 inch card front! I used the inlay part of die set cut from white paper layered over peachy pink paper that was cut with outer die only.  If you look closely, you can see that there is a subtle embossed design near inner border of white piece.  That part of the die set doesn't cut when used by itself.  There are 2 edge dies that can be used with it to cut a design element, one of which I used to cut the floral paper that's under the verse. Having edge dies separate allow more versatility when creating with this die set!  I've used the label die from Oh Happy Day for my verse which was inked through the die before stamping the verse.  It's layered over gold ribbon fastened and popped up with Thin 3D Foam Squares.  I've also used the new Cinch and Go Flowers V on the card and basket. I inked the small flower for the pink center and lightly inked the rest of the petals.  Gold stamens fill the centers.

The basket takes just a bit more planning to put together.  This die set makes a lovely edge on my basket! I die cut white paper and solid peach pink for trim around basket top.  After I fastened them together, I decided to run it through my die cut machine with die in place and using embossing sandwich.  It embossed as I wanted but also cracked the pink paper.  I was disappointed at first but  decided I liked the look!   I added a die cut of the smallest die to top of the basket handle.  I applied ink through the die to add color on the flower shapes.  The center diamond was cut from coordinating paper and fastened over the inked piece. Another piece cut the same is fastened under it sandwiching the ribbon between.  The ribbon wraps around the basket sides and is fastened on the bottom.

These papers from Photo Play paper really work well for this card and basket!  It's the same paper used front and back.

For my Second Project For Today:

I'm pleased to introduce S4-999 Infinity Link Border
Another gorgeous die that has so many possibilities!  I've used it to make a band down the center of this wedding card.

I cut the design from white cardstock and lightly rubbed Distress Tattered Rose ink over it.  It accents the raised parts of the design.   I really like that the cutting edge dies are 2 separate pieces.  Because of that I was able to cut the teal paper behind the decorative piece just a little bigger to allow a border to show along the edge.  If you notice the pointed design with pearls along the edge, that was also cut with the edge die. I used the point side and trimmed the ends off.  The wonderful part of that is it perfectly fits the design yet looks so different! I've used seam binding to add borders to the center design as well as along the edges of peach paper.  The subtle design on the peach paper was stamped with Distress Tattered Rose Oxide ink and Distress Tattered Rose ink used to blend and add color along the edges.  Pink pearls and a bow accent the design.
