Hello friends!
Make these easy cards with mixed media painted strips. It's like your own one of kind faux washi tape!
Hello!
I'm back with another card. This Birthday Card for a Guy features papers from Photo Play "For the Love of Winter" Collection pack. I'm not wanting to think of winter right now but I sure like the blue color papers in this collection and they seemed appropriate for a guy card.
Here's a card I created with some of Spellbinders newest holiday die templates. The reindeer and swirly die cut are from S4-287 Fanciful Holiday. I cut them out of felt using dark brown for the deer and burgundy for the swirl pattern. The corners and the burgundy ring around the deer are felt, too. It cuts quite easily with 1 or 2 passes through the Grand Calibur. I also used S4-292 Beaded Circles to create a frame for the reindeer. The beaded edge is cut with #4 (the largest) in the Beaded Circles set. To get the scalloped inside edge I used #3 Beaded Circles in the center, a great edge and it matches perfectly! The card base is dark red card stock with Aged Mahogany rubbed along the edges. The lighter area around "Merry Christmas" is the actual color. The greeting is from Hero Arts Holiday Sayings, stamped and embossed with white EP. The embossed paper under the deer was first sprayed with Mint Chocolate Chip Chalkboard Glimmer Mist. Chalkboard Glimmer Mist is opaque with a subtle sheen compared to regular Glimmer Mist. It was embossed over Spellbinders 12-1006 Floral and Stone Impressabilities. Actually, it's debossed, meaning that the pattern in impressed into the paper versus being raised above the paper. I used the same paper under the swirl die cut at the bottom of the card. Each is matted with light blue paper the same color as the Beaded Circles frame. I used part of the smaller ornate swirls from Spellbinders Fanciful Holiday set for the corners. The final touch is a tiny jingle bell on the reindeer.
In this photo, you can see where I made the fold on the Grand Labels One. I folded the shorter section to the back of the card. The Labels One shown is the largest in the set. The other sizes would work for smaller cards!

For this card, I chose a colorful paper from Basic Grey's Lime Rickey 6 x 6 pad. These condensed versions of the papers are great for cards! I stamped the "congratulations" band with Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink. The stamp is from Hero Arts Everyday Sayings. "You did it" is also from that set. The tag was cut with a Spellbinders die. I added the pink edge with a Copic marker. A couple flowers, big brad & a narrow grosgrain ribbon to finish it!

I used the large moth rub-on with a few tiny flowers added for my focal image. I used Spellbinders dies to cut the circles & scalloped circle. The card opening is offset so the circle extends beyond the edge. I used a border punch to add scallops with 3 green Hero Arts Pearls for accent. The message is stamped in Memento Sweet Plum.
...the inside says "soon".
Supplies:

This was a fun card I put together with Cloud9Design papers & a coordinating sticker, 4 different Spellbinders dies, a little tag die from Cuttlebug, "Merry Christmas" verse from a tiny Hero Arts set & some needle punching. Amazingly enough......I did not distress it at all! Oh...I did add Stickles glitter glue to the berries.
