I'm back with a Beaded Bracelet to Share!

Hello!  My name is Judy..........thought I might need to introduce myself again!!!  It's been a very long time since I posted here.
I needed a break......some time to refocus.   I'm working on renewing some of my creative energy!  I took time to create some art for myself, no deadlines, no requirements!  I'll share a journal that I'm working on in some future blog posts.

Here's a few highlights from the last 2 1/2 months.......

In early August, I went to Phoenix for the Spellbinders Design Teams retreat, my 4th trip.  Wow, time does fly!  A big change this year with all the design teams attending the retreat.  So much talent!   What fun!
Later in August I had some minor surgery.  Everything went well but boy did it zap my energy for a week or so!
In September, I went to Sweden and Norway with my parents, husband, sisters and nephew.  A trip of a lifetime!  We went to see where my Mom's grandfather came from in Norway and visit cousins there.  We also visited the area of Sweden where my Dad's grandfather came from. Lots to see, lots of travel!  Wonderful to experience it with family!!!  A great trip!
Back to reality when I got home........projects due!
October brought birthdays to celebrate!  My youngest granddaughter turned 1!  My grandsons turned 12!  My son in law celebrated a birthday, too.  We celebrated an anniversary!
Now, it's already the 22nd of October!

So let's get to something crafty!!!

This is a bracelet I designed for Julianna Hudgins' Positively Me! blog

This is a simple beaded design composed of 2 rows of seed beads on each side of a row of black bugle beads. It's fairly simple to do on Julianna's Jewel Loom.  You can see a video about the Jewel Loom at this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hs3JLbrNbXE

When I started the bracelet, my intention was to make a simple, quick bracelet.  I wanted a narrow bracelet that I could pair with other bracelets.  I really like how it turned out!

As I finished gluing the string ends and put the clasp on it, I noticed some charms laying on my work table.  An "Aha!" moment!  Why not add a charm to the bracelet clasp?

So that's what I did!  My first photo shows the leaf charm added to the clasp with a jump ring.  I  glued 2 seed beads onto the leaf which adds the blue color to it and ties it to the bracelet.

I still like the bracelet without the charm!!!  I really should make a couple more to wear together!

Today, I have a bright flowers card on Juliana Hudgins Positively Me blog

I sort of stepped out of my box for this card!  I usually don't create with such bright colors!  I love the contrast against the black card stock!

I've listed all the supplies and a brief description of how I made it on Julianna's blog.  You check it out there.

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers!

A Love Wedding Card

Today, I shared this soft shimmer love card on Julianna Hudgins' Positively Me Blog

This card features flowers from Spellbinders Jewel Flowers and Flourishes and Jewel Framed Sentiments.  I've used pearlescent off-white card stock for the frame and flowers.  The pearlescent paper is one of my favorites becasue it cuts so well, comes out of the dies easily and the best: has a beautiful shimmer!

You can find more details on my post on Julianna's Positively Me Blog.

Quick Black, White and Kraft Cards

Today, I shared two quick cards on Julianna Hudgins's Positively Me blog

These two cards are the quickest project I've made in a long time! I love how they turned out! Very clean, classic elegance in Kraft, black and white! Simple, too!

Both cards use two of the same flowers as I used on my Bright Jewel Flowers box!  Yet, these flowers are a complete contrast to the bright flowers!

Each card is an A2 size. I embossed the front of each one with Spellbinders™ EG-002 Dainty Dots M-Bossabilities Grand embossing folder which has single dots on one side and a pattern of 4 dots on the other side.

The Kraft and black mats were cut with  Spellbinders™ S5-131 A2 Matting Basics A #4 (#1 being the smallest) and Spellbinders™ S5-132 A2 Matting Basics B #5.  These die sets make cutting mats so easy!  And always the same size!!!  Perfect for A2 size cards!

I used two different flowers from Spellbinders™ S5-143 Jewel Flowers and Flourishes on each card. I added a button center to each one from Buttons Galore and More Natural Grab Bag.   The flourish becomes the stem on the first card. On the second card, I used the stem from the set.

A little verse from JustRite "You Inspire Me" stamped in black ink and clear heat embossed finishes each card.

Quick and easy!

Bright Jewel Flowers

Here's a project I shared on Julianna's blog.  Click here to go to the full post.

All these bright flowers were cut out of craft foil and then colored with StazOn inks.  I love the bright colors!  The flower dies I used are from Julianna's Spellbinders set: Jewel Flowers and Flourishes. I posted more info on Julianna's blog.

A Jewel Gem Necklace

Here's a little "gem" necklace I created for Julianna Hudgins Design Team.
It's posted on her blog here.

This turquoise nugget is actually shrink plastic!

I cut the oval with Spellbinders S5-098 Jewel Stones out of black shrink plastic and punched a hole for the jump ring.  Then I painted it with Tattered Angels Caspian Sea Glimmer Glam.  When I heated it the Glimmer Glam crinkled up into this wonderful texture!
I cut the initial from white shrink plastic that I painted with Tattered Angels Saffron Glimmer Glaze.  After I glued the "J" in place, I dripped Ice Resin over the nugget.  I wanted enough to seal the texture and add a little shine, yet not too much.  The Ice Resin served to secure the crinkled texture to the shrink plastic, too!
