New Artistic Outpost Stamps!!!

Artistic Outpost has 3 new stamp sets being released today!!!!

Here's a little about the three sets being released:

Apothecary  -   Before the invention of the drive-thru Walgreens®, the apothecary was not just a dispenser of medicines, but also a mix-ologist of tonics, keeper of secrets, and giver of advice.  Antique apothecary bottles are highly collectible in part due to the “mystery” of what could actually be in them.  Our AO stylized bottle has a blank space that our “product” labels fit perfectly into…or hand write your prescription on our vintage Rx pad.

Frosty & Friends  -  I love the sweetness of vintage Christmas cards.  The secular imagery was dreamy and cute...so sugary sweet my teeth hurt just to look at them.  This collection features some of our favorite images from our own AO collection of vintage ephemera

Halloween Treats  -   Growing up, our Halloween decorations were Technicolor large die cuts of pumpkins and kitty cats and witches on broomsticks.  These stamps remind me of those “cardboard” cut-outs.  How I wished we had saved them!   Try mixing this set with our other Halloween collections as well as Apothecary!

You're definitely going to want to check out projects by these Design Team members:

They'll have lots of inspiration for you!

I chose to work with Apothecary and Frosty and Friends for this release.  I did not work with Halloween Treats.  I know some of the other Design Team members will have samples made with that set.

This is the card I made with Apothecary:

I think this would make a great masculine "Get Well" card.  I certainly didn't start out with that in mind!  It just evolved!!!
I chose the man, building, word "Apothecary" and the bottle stamps and started stamping.  My first idea was a collage of those stamps.  Before I had even stamped anything, I was onto another idea!
I cut out the Spellbinders Labels Twenty-One with an oval opening from Kraft card stock.  Then I stamped the man with Memento Tuxedo Black.  I used Antique Linen, Vintage Photo and Black Soot Distress inks to add color.  I stamped "Apothecary" on white cardstock and added Distress inks.  I cut it out with one of the pennants from Spellbinders Nested lacey Pennants.  Next I stamped the building, again on white cardstock and colored with Distress inks.  I trimmed it to fit behind the oval opening.  I stamped and cut out the bottle.  The label was stamped separately and adhered to the bottle.  The bottle is colored with Distress Tea Dye.  I thought that color looked more like the old amber or brown medicine bottles!  I stamped 10 cents and punched it out with a circle punch.  Again it's distressed.  I added a little hole to tie it around the bottle neck with bakers' brown and white cord. The background papers are from Graphic 45.  Of course, I inked them, too!!

Now for Frosty and Friends:

Frosty is my favorite image from this set of stamps!  He's just so cute!
I started by stamping him on white cardstock.  I also stamped the image on Eclipse tape and cut out Frosty.  I placed the mask over my stamped piece so I could add Antique Linen ink to the music background and keep Frosty white!  I also stamped the scarf with Cranberry ink and cut it out.  I stamped the mitten with Memento Tuxedo Black and the bird with Espresso.  Both were cut out and colored with Copic markers. I added a touch of shading to Frosty with pale blue and gray Copic markers.  I glued the scarf, mitten and bird in place.  To make the hat shiny, I inked it with a Versamark marker and clear heat embossed it.  Be sure the Distress ink around it is dry or it will grab the embossing powder, too!
Frosty is layered on black and red mats.
The card background paper is from My Mind's Eye Holly Jolly collection.  I added Antique Linen and Vintage Photo inks along the edges.  The size is 4 1/4" x 6".
I used another paper from that collection to stamp "Merry Christmas and clear heat emboss it.  The edges are cut with one of the new Spellbinders Edgeabilities called Classic Bracket.  I matched the edges with a red mat at the bottom. On the top edge, I offset the edges for a different look. I added 3 red brads at one end and baker's twine tied around the other end.  It's mounted with foam tape.

Frosty and Friends is such a cute set of stamps!  I'm going to have fun making holiday cards with it!!!

I hope you've enjoyed my cards.  Now, hop on over to one of the other Design Team members blogs to catch some more inspiration!!!

Please note that due to the high volume during new releases, that “mounted” stamp collections may take 10 days to ship.  We will keep you posted on your order, and thank you so much for visiting our outpost.
