Happy 4th of July Tag

Applying metallic foil over 3D Foam Stars makes such shiny bright stars!  And it's easy to do!

The background panel with stars and stripes is made from washi tape on white cardstock with red foil between the tape. Easy technique!

Cards with Mixed Media Painted Strips

 Make these easy cards with mixed media painted strips.  It's like your own one of kind faux washi tape!  

I've posted directions for making the painted paper and cards HERE on Scrapbook Adhesives Blog today.

I applied Distress Paints using an old credit card and then added stenciling and stamping with black and white Distress Paints.  Once the paper was dry, I applied Adhesive Sheets 6x12 inch to back and cut paper into various width strips.  The strips are like stickers with adhesive on the back.  Simple pell away the liner and fasten to a card.  Add a simple greeting popped up with Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix to finish each card.  So easy!  

I made a several sheets of painted paper to have on hand for a quick card.  Plus it's so fun to make!

Collage Tag with Metallic Transfer Foil

 Today, I'm sharing a tag that I put together with a collage sheet made with paper scraps, Adhesive Sheets 6 x 12 in. and Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Pastel Colors. The collage technique is easy and can be adapted to other projects. I previously posted a home decor piece called Joy Collage Frame Canvas made with same collage sheet. You can see it HERE

The collage technique is easy and can be made with any assortment of papers. There are multiple colors of foil that can be used.  So many ways to use it on a card, tag, scrapbook page or even home decor frame.

Sweet 16 Birthday Card

 Today, I created a Sweet 16 Birthday Card to share.  This was fun to put together once I got going!  Sometimes I struggle to find a direction until I actually start cutting and making. 

I used a piece of cheesecloth to add texture interest for the background.  It was something I colored awhile ago and was just waiting to be used.

Foiled Collage Canvas

I created a collage of patterned papers and metallic foil to add a frame around a stamped verse for this Foiled Collage Canvas.

 The process to make the collage is quite easy.  Simply apply Adhesive Sheets 6 x 12 to a 6 x 12 inch piece of cardstock, peel liner at one end and begin placing bits of torn papers on adhesive with space left between each one.  Continue until entire paper is covered.  Then place pink foil from Metallic Transfer Foils Pastel Colors over collage and press foil into spaces between papers.  Repeat until all spaces are covered with pink foil. I cut the collage to fit a 4 x 6 canvas board and cut an opening for the verse.  Find more details on Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog - click here. I share all the directions to complete this Foiled Collage Canvas.

It's an easy card and fun to make.  The foil colors are so pretty! 

I can imagine making it with all gold on a black background or with holographic foils for a totally different look.  Switch out the squares with 3D Foam Circles for yet another look.

Covering Tin Lids with Photographic Collage Paper

 Recently, I bought some small tins at Dollar Tree store.  No particular project in mind but just in case....I always like to have craft stuff on hand!  

I decided to try gluing Tim Holtz new Photographic Collage Paper to the lids.  That collage paper with all the vintage photos is my favorite!  

First, I painted lids with Gesso.  Once it was dry, I used Distress Collage Medium to apply layers of Photographic Collage Paper to each lid.  I used 2 different images on each tin.  The man and boys has an image of buildings and postmark behind image of man and boys.  That scene is very subtle.  The other tin has house image collaged to lid first and then image of women over it.  I roughly fussy cut around the women which makes the house more visible.  I rubbed on some Distress inks to add sky color and age the edges (Vintage Photo and Broken China).

I'm super pleased with how these turned out!  

I'm still pondering how to seal the ink so that it doesn't rub off.  It will need to be a solvent based product so it doesn't react with the ink.  Until then, I'm enjoying them just as they are setting on my craft table to admire!
