A Masculine Grad Card

Today, I have a masculine Grad Card up on Scrapbook Adhesives Blog.
The letters to spell GRAD are cut from worn denim fastened to 3D Foam Creative Sheets. The foam adds instant dimension and a sticky adhesive backing.  So easy to put in place, just like a sticker!

I created the background paper with Distress inks and crumpled paper.  It's an old technique that Tim brought up in his live video on May 9. I have used that technique a lot to make papers for book covers. The two books under the card were made with that technique.  If you're interested in seeing step outs on that, leave me a comment or send me an email.

You can find more details on Scrapbook Adhesives blog HERE

And because I can't through away scraps!  I made a second card with negative pieces from the letters.

A Few Projects

Well, it's quite some time since I put anything on my blog!  Sometimes for me what's out of sight, out of mind doesn't get done!  I do post to Instagram more often.  Be sure to follow me there!

So I thought I'd post a few things from the past 2 months in case you missed them somewhere else.

Here's a Travel Journal.

I used my Bind-It-All to bind pages for writing notes, plus a few pockets.  The cover is made with cardstock stamped and inked and covered with Self-Laminating Pouches - Medium from Scrapbook Adhesives - that made nice plastic covered covers.  More details on Scrapbook Adhesives blog - HERE

This was a fun Snarky Cat card to make!

I used Tim Holtz Snarky Cat stamp along with Altenew stamp set. The background and the cat were both pieces that I had made previously. If you're following Tim Holtz with his live Facebook demos, he recommends playing with products and techniques to learn and build up a stash to use. I do that on occasion and this background is from my stash. It was done with a technique shared by Wendy Vecchi using Archival Inks and rubbing alcohol. I love the technique however, it's a hard to find 91% alcohol now!  I added some stamping and ink rubbed over some areas.  Cat was colored with Copic markers.  From there I added the other pieces. Wonderful Flower Bouquet Card

This card features stamps and die from Penny Black.  I water colored the base and flowers.  The flowers were cut apart from the vase to pop them up more than the vase.

I hope to be back soon.....but you never know with me.
