Autumn Leaf Card

 Hello Friends!

I posted this card on Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Blog today.  This card makes a bold statement and is easy to make.
The leaf is stamped with Distress Archival Ground Expresso, clear heat embossed and then colors of Distress inks sponged over it.

I stamped the same leaf stamp with Distress Antique Linen ink to make the background.

"Autumn" and verse are stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink. For the verse, I stamped off the ink on scrap paper once before stamping on card to make it slightly less bold.

Card size is 4.25 x 5.75 inches

You can see more details with step out photos and directions HERE.

Happy Crafting!

Judy

Faux Postage Fall Card

Hi, friends!  Fall is certainly in the air as I write this! The colors of tree leaves are intense golds and some reds.  I really like those colors and used them as inspiration for color of this fall card.  It's a pretty easy to make card!  The design could so easily be used for lots of occasions.  Simply stamp holiday images for Christmas or make it for a birthday with balloon or cake images. Just use your imagination and create!

I posted all the details about how I made it on Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog HERE.

I used a stamp set from Tim Holtz called The Scarecrow.  So appropriate for fall.  Where I live there are corn fields all around and an occasional scarecrow!

Thanks for visiting!

Thankful Card with Foil Leaves

Hello everyone! I'm back with another Scrapbook Adhesives project.  It's hard to believe that it's the end of August!  It will soon be fall with all it's glorious colors!  That's my inspiration for this card.

You can find all the step out photos and directions on Scrapbook Adhesives blog - HERE.

Here's a peek of how I used foil for the letter squares which are Thin 3D Foam Squares with die cut letters on them

and foil on 3D Foam Leaves.

I like to use a heat gun to heat the leaves after applying the foil.  It adds a slight texture and mellows the color a tiny bit.

Thanks for stopping!
Happy Creating!

Artistic Outpost's 2nd Anniversary

October marks Artistic Outpost's 2nd Anniversary!
To celebrate they're having a Sketch Challenge.

Here's the info from AO......

Artistic Outpost is celebrating our 2nd Birthday! You have a chance to get a present from us by participating in our challenge. The challenge is pretty simple, just use this sketch and create a Fall or Birthday Themed card using Artistic Outpost images. You'll have until October 23rd to leave your link here on the Artistic Outpost Blog, using Mr. Linky. One winner will be chosen on October 31st, through the Random Number Generator, be sure to check back to see if you've won. The prize is a $25 gift certificate to the Artistic Outpost Store. Note: Artistic Outpost Designers are NOT eligible for the prize.

I decided to play along.........

This is my Fall card created with a bit of artistic license in interpreting the sketch.

I chose to turn the Sketch on it's side. I extended the narrow rectangle to the edge of the card yet still incorporated the brads. I replaced the small rectangle with leaves. And, of course, I added a few embellishments......brown narrow twine wound between the brads and "fall" spelled out with chipboard letters from Basic Grey.

The covered bridge and oak leaf are from AO's new set: Old Grist Mill.

To created this card, I first stamped the covered bridge with black ink on natural card stock. I colored it completely with Distress inks using Cut n Dry foam and Tiny Applicators. I stamped the leaves on cream card stock with various colors of Adirondack inks and clear heat embossed them. I rubbed Distress inks over them to color the background. Once I liked the color, I ironed the leaves between plain newsprint paper to remove the embossing. The result is wonderful color on a dark background and the leaves have a waxy finish and more body allowing the leaves to be shaped and curled. I used the leaf stamp with Versamark ink over the "fall" letters for some character. The texture on the brown band was created with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I rubbed over it with Walnut Stain ink.

I encourage you to take the AO Sketch Challenge!
