Charming Anniversary Card

Today, I have an anniversary card to share made with a holiday set of dies! 

I made this card with a die set by Amazing Paper Grace called Charming Snowflake Doily.  I had in mind to make a Valentine's card with it but just never quite got it done. Does that ever happen to you?  It works nicely for an anniversary card.  The colors could be changed completely....make gold foil and black or silver and gold....

Here's what the die set looks like:

Charming Snowflake Doily

This card is basically a white 5.5 inch square card with red patterned heart paper layered over it.  I used the insert part of the die (without outer cutting edge which is a separate piece) to cut the design into a 5 inch square of pale pink paper.  I used all of the little pink hearts that cut out to layer over it.  They are to the outside of each cut out heart shape (those that show red paper through them).  Next, I cut the design out of a scrap of white cardstock.  As I only wanted the center circle of hearts, I used a piece of paper just big enough for that.  I cut off any part to outside of circle of open hearts.  Then I snipped the circle of hearts apart between every 2 hearts and cut a slight amount of paper away at the cut.  That's so I could make them into a slightly smaller circle to add behind the pink paper and have a white edge show at inside of center opening.  Hope that makes sense! I fastened all the little white hearts from the die cut along the outer edge of the design.  Adhesive Dots Micro hold all the hearts in place.  I stamped the verse on a strip of white cardstock and popped it up on the card.  It's actually a pretty easy card to make! Putting the little hearts in place took the most time but add so much!  If you have this die set, this is another use for it besides for holidays or winter!

50th Anniversary Card with Filigree Numbers

Today I have a 50th Anniversary card to share.  It features Amazing Paper Grace dies: Filigree Numbers, Tiara Rondelle, Vintage Pierced Banners, Layered Happily Ever After, Grand Arch 3D and stamp from Oh Happy Day.  Lots of different die cut layers all cut from cream cardstock with a touch of gold foil.

 

The card base is 5 x 7 inches.  Starting from card up, the first layer is rectangle of cream cardstock. The next layer is 4.5 x 6.5 inch cardstock cut with Grand Arch 3D insert (not outer edge) at each end so design is mirrored from top to bottom.  To do  that, I placed die and paper on cutting plate.  I covered only half of the die with base plate.  The die only cuts where both plates put pressure on the die and paper.  Next, I put the die at the other end and used the same process to cut that end.  I used a scissors to cut where the two cuts didn't quite meet.  It makes a gorgeous background and another way to use Grand Arch 3D! 

Before it was put on the card, gold foil paper was fastened behind each corner.
 

 

The Tiara Rondelle part was assembled first and then fastened to the card.  Because its a very thin die cut, I decided to cut 2 layers and fasten them together, a little dimension plus strength.  I applied Adhesive Sheets 4 x 6 inch to back of cream cardstock and cut one Tiara Rondelle.  Then I had the "brilliant" idea to leave the die cut piece in the die, peel the adhesive backing and cut another Tiara Rondelle.  My thought was that the 2 pieces would be stuck together and cut perfectly.   I punched out the bigger cut outs but left the smaller pieces thinking I'd punch them out after second cut.  Well.....the little areas didn't cut through because of the layer of paper in the die.  So that's why you see seemingly debossed areas which would usually cut out.  It's a new technique that I plan to try again!

  

Behind the Tiara Rondelle is gold foil circle cut with Spellbinders Standard Circle LG, largest die.  The inner cream circle was cut with the next smaller die.  The gold circle is fastened with E-Z Runner® Micro Refillable Dispenser with inner circle fastened to it.  I cut another cream circle and cut the bride and groom (no outer die) from that circle.  I trimmed away paper around bride and groom and fastened them in place.  The whole Tiara Rondelle piece is popped up with 3D Foam Squares – White Mix to fasten to card front.
 

The "50" was cut from cream cardstock using outer die.  Gold foil was cut with outer die and filigree insert. I used Home and Hobby Dual Tip Glue Pen around the edges to fasten them together,  These are fastened to card with Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix.

 

For the banner, I stamped "Anniversary" from Oh Happy Day set and heat embossed with gold.  Then I cut the banner centered over the stamped "anniversary".  I also cut banner from gold foil.  It was cut in half lengthwise and the pieces fastened behind banner with narrow reveal at top and bottom.  I did the same with banner tails. The tails are fastened to banner with Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix. The banner is fastened to the card with 3D Foam Squares – White Mix stacked double along the bottom edge and only single on the tails.

An Anniversary Card

Well......it's been awhile.....


A few other priorities took up my stamping time this week.....
The Vikings on Monday night! WTG Vikes!
The Twins on Tuesday afternoon and evening! Super win!
......and the Twins again on Wednesday.....not a good day.

So consequently my stamping time was a bit scarce.

I also had camera issues.....the lens wouldn't extend when I turned it on. I was so bummed! How could I post photos...??? I got it to work later.....yeah! I hope it keeps working. I'm afraid the tiny electric motor is going out.....

So.....I'm sharing a card I made for my Mom & Dad.







They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last week.
Definitely an occasion to celebrate!!!

We had a small casual gathering of a few relatives and friends to honor the occasion. I enjoyed visiting with aunts and uncles that I rarely see anymore.



Mom and Dad sure enjoyed it!
