True Friend Blessings Card

Happy Day!  Here's a True Friend Blessings Card made with beautiful dies from Amazing Paper Grace.  Love the detailed swirly background on this die from S5-364 Corner Cotillion! It includes the 2 flowers, a leaf, oval, edge die and the swirly background.  I've used the oval from S5-365 Sweetheart Swirl for the verse.  It's a perfect fit!

The die set S5-364 Corner Cotillion is part of the Card Creator line from Spellbinders, A2 card size.  My card measures 4.75 x 6 inches.  I used the edge die, design swirl die and the oval die to cut the gray part. It's fastened to cornflower blue mat cut just a little bigger for a narrow reveal at the edge.  The pieces are fastened together using E-Z Runner® Micro Refillable Dispenser which has a narrow adhesive strip. Both are fastened to a white card base.

The verse oval is cut with oval from S5-365 Sweetheart Swirl.  I like how it coordinates with the oval from Corner Cotillion!  I stamped the verse with Versafine Clair Morning Mist which is a gray ink. The stamp is from Penny Black.  The oval is popped up slightly with Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix.  

I cut the flowers and leaves from white cardstock.  They are colored with Distress Oxide inks.  The flower centers are filled with Nuvo Crystal Drops "Buttermilk" and sprinkled with glitter when it was wet.  Flowers are fastened with Adhesive Dots Medium and leaves are kept a bit dimensional with 3D Foam Squares – White Mix. I added a bow of seam binding below the flowers held in place with Adhesive Dots Medium.

Today, I'm sending "Best Wishes to You! with this card.   It features Amazing Paper Grace dies Trefoil Crest, Hemstitch Squares, and  Curvy Labels.  It's a layering of die cut shapes and a few pearls.

To make this card, I cut Trefoil Crest from dark green cardstock. It's layered over off white cardstock cut with Curvy Labels. I cut a smaller size of Curvy Labels for the verse. It's stamped with a verse from Penny Black "grateful heart" stamp set using Versafine Clair Shady Lane ink.  I really like using color for my verses instead of black.  Versafine Clair ink stamps so crisply!  I used my Misti to stamp this verse multiple times to get it darker.

The verse label is popped up with 3D Foam Squares – White Mix.  The next layer is light green cardstock cut with largest die from Hemstitch Squares. It's layered over an off white square cut just a little bigger.  The assembled verse piece is layered onto the Hemstitch Square with Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix for just a little dimension. The patterned paper is from Carta Bella Spring Market collection. A piece of silk ribbon wraps across it and is fastened in the back with E-Z Runner® Ultra Refillable Dispenser .  Ultra really holds so it's great for ribbon!  Next, it's fastened to a 6 x 6 inch card using adhesive from E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser .  Little pearls accent the verse and Trefoil Crest.

And that completes the card!

Elegant Swirl Birthday Card

Good Morning!  It's Sunday and time for another Amazing Paper Grace project.  Today, I've used Sweetheart Swirl dies along with Cascading Grace to make an Elegant Swirl Birthday Card.

 

I've used Cougar Natural cardstock for 5 x 7 inch card base. The layers from card up are shiny gold metallic cardstock, then Cougar Natural.  Next is a green shaped layer cut with Cascading Grace

outer edge die.  Layered onto it are die cut pieces at the corners.  These were cut with a label die from Cascading Grace.  I cut each label in half to use each end at a corner.  The paper had Adhesive Sheets 4 x 6 inch applied to the back before cutting.  That makes it so easy to fasten it in place on my card! The cut ends of the labels are covered by swirl oval.

 



I used the edge die from Sweetheart Swirl to cut patterned paper. I really like that I can use just the edge die to cut a solid piece for a mat behind the design oval!  The swirl pattern piece was cut with the edge die and design die.  The layers are fastened together with E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser.    It's popped up on the card with 3D Foam Squares – White Mix . I cut  the oval center piece with die from Sweetheart Swirl out of natural paper.  It's stamped with Fallen Leaves ink using a stamp from Penny Black 'sprigs' set.  It's popped up with Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix.

The medallion piece from Sweetheart Swirl was cut from shiny gold metallic cardstock.  I added a large pearl to the center.  Love how pretty it looks cut from the gold paper!  It's fastened with Adhesive Dots Medium Ultra Thin over three pieces of sheer ribbon, green and aqua. I've also added a bow of gold threads behind the medallion. The ribbon ends are tucked behind the gold rectangle mat.

Special Friend Birthday Card wtih Gold Accents

Today I have a Special Friend Birthday Card with Gold Accents to share.  This card showcases a die cut frame cut with S5-369 Ringlet Round from gold metallic card stock.  Corner accents were cut from the same paper using a die from S5-367 Swirl Tags. I've used navy ribbon, navy cardstock and  a grayish tan patterned background paper.

To make this card, I cut gold cardstock with S5-369 Ringlet Round using the edge die, design die and the inner edge die.  Navy silk ribbon is loosely woven through the pattern and tied at the side.  I used the inner die to cut a piece of patterned Echo Park paper for the center.  A Penny Black verse is stamped with Versafine Clair Twilight.  I added a touch of shading around the edges with Distress Pumice Stone ink. I centered the gold frame on square of patterned paper and fastened it with E-Z Runner® Micro Refillable Dispenser.  The verse is popped up and fastened with 3D Foam Squares – Black Mix.

I cut 4 pieces of the gold cardstock with one of the decorative dies from S5-367 Swirl Tags. I slipped each one over the corners and added a pearl.  These layers are fastened to navy cardstock using 

E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser and E-Z Runner® Ultra Refillable Dispenser. I use the Ultra on the corners and the Dots along the edges.  The next layer is same patterned paper as center, also shaded along edges with Distress Pumice Stone ink.  All are fastened to a 6 x 6 inch white card.

I added 3 pearls under verse. A gold button with pearl center is fastened over gold cord bow and over the navy bow with Adhesive Dots 3D .

Graceful Swirl Booklet

It's Sunday with an Amazing Paper Grace project!  I made a little booklet that I call Graceful Swirl Booklet. It's made with S5-368  Graceful Doily for the center medallion and S5-366 Swirl Background to cut design to cover front.  Both of these dies are so intricate and beautiful! I also used S5-363 Swirl Booklet Insert to frame a verse inside front cover.

Graceful Swirl Booklet is 5 x 6⅛ inches.  The cover is 100 lb. Kraft cardstock.  Pages are ivory paper that's heavier than printer paper but not quite cardstock weight.  I cut 5 pages 6 x 9¾.  Each one was scored and folded. I nested them together to make a signature.  Five evenly spaced holes were made with needle tool in the fold.  I trimmed the outer edges of the pages even when they were nested together.  I recommend waiting to sew the pages to the cover until it's finished.  Otherwise, the pages could easily get ink on them. 

To decorate the cover, I cut 2 of S5-366 Swirl Background from black cardstock to which Adhesive Sheets 6 x 12 inch was applied on the back. I must admit this intricate background cut the cardstock but didn't quite cut through the adhesive backing after 2 passes through die cut machine.  That made it a bit challenging to take all the pieces out of it.  I cut two so I could layer them together to be thicker.  I fastened it to the booklet cover by peeling adhesive backing and pressing in place.  I used my heat gun to warm the adhesive  for a better hold.  (photo shows cords at center....I redid that for the finished booklet)

My next step was to rub Distress Concord Grape ink over the entire cover.  I used Black Soot to darken the edges a little.

The medallion from bottom up is a black cardstock circle base cut with Spellbinders Standard Circles SM #6 die. Next is a circle of black cut with circle from S5-368  Graceful Doily.  Layered over it is a "donut" circle cut with both circles and outer pattern dies form S5-368  Graceful Doily.  Cardstock had Adhesive Sheets on back which made it easy to fasten to the black circle.  I rubbed Metallic Lustre Iced Espresso over it so it looks metallic.  In the center is circle cut from black cardstock.  It's fastened with E-Z Runner® Ultra Refillable Dispenser , my favorite adhesive dispenser when using Distress inks.  The resins in the inks make it hard to get adhesive to stick.  The E-Z Runner Ultra works!  The last piece for the medallion is 2 of the decorative circle cut from black cardstock with Adhesive Sheets applied to back.  I layered the 2 pieces together for more dimension. It's also rubbed with Iced Espresso Metallic Lustre.  I added a bit more adhesive to the center with E-Z Runner Ultra  for extra hold when I fastened it in place.  Finally, a purple rhinestone is fastened in the center.

The last step is to sew the signature and cover together.  I started at the top because I wanted the cord ends to dangle from there. I stitched through cover and pages to bottom and then stitched back to top.  After knotting the cords together, I added some beads to the ends.
Inside the cover, I added an insert with verse on the first page in the booklet.  It was cut with 

S5-363 Swirl Booklet Insert from black cardstock.  Verse is stamped on same paper as pages with Versafine Clair Monarch ink.

Shaped Daisy Card with Flourished Square

Happy Day everyone!  I'm back with a Shaped Daisy Card created with Amazing Paper Grace Flourished Square  and flowers from Corner Cotillion.

I had no intention of using that floral background when I started putting this card together.  It's the back side of the paper that I chose.  I dropped it on the floor and it landed flower side up.  I liked the floral side so I tried it with Flourished Square over it.  Love how it looks!

To cut the shaped card, I folded cardstock slightly bigger than die.  I placed the die so fold of paper was inside the cutting edge on one side (top of card).  I kept fold a ways below very edge of die.

I cut the floral paper with same die.  I stamped Penny Black verse with Fallen Leaves ink and clear heat embossed it before fastening it to the card with E-Z Dots® Permanent Refillable Dispenser.  I used die to help with placement of verse.

I applied Adhesive Sheets 6 x 12 inch to back of pearlescent cardstock.  I die cut it with Flourished Square using outer cutting die, intricate pattern die and inner cutting die. Photo didn't capture the pearlescent sheen of this paper.

To fasten over floral paper, I peeled adhesive backing and pressed in place.

I cut 3 flowers from off white cardstock using large flower from Corner Cotillion.  I rubbed Spice Marmalade ink from center out and shaped the petals with ball tool.  Centers are Adhesive Dots 3D covered with gold micro beads and then sprinkled with gold embossing powder (not heated) to fill in between beads.  Perfect daisy centers!  Leaves were cut from pail green paper and inked with Peeled Paint Distress ink.  The two outer flowers are held in place with Adhesive Dots Medium.  I used Adhesive Dots 3D under center flower to pop it up.  Leaves are also fastened with Adhesive Dots 3D. A bow tied in gold cord is tucked under the flowers and held in place with Adhesive Dots Medium.

Introducing Amazing Paper Grace - Romancing the Swirl Collection

About Romancing the Swirl Collection
The Romancing the Swirl Collection by Amazing Paper Grace for Spellbinders is chock full of calligraphic swirls and elegant, classic dreamy motifs that will be in style for years to come.  Meant to be used together across the collection, every die will be in character with another as they are combined.  Well rounded with squares, circles, ovals, and rectangles - each combination provides the ability to create a layering masterpiece adorned by the extra embellishments in the collection.

Each designer of Amazing Paper Grace Creative Team is sharing their creations with two dies from the collection.  Links to each of the other Creative Team members are below so you can see all the inspiration on the hop.  Don't forget, each of us will be giving away an Amazing Paper Grace die pulled from the comments - one from each blog.  The prize details are at the bottom of my post. So, let's see the dies I get to introduce!

My Projects Today:

I enjoyed working with  S5-363 Swirl Booklet Insert.  This set is designed to coordinate with S5-289 Filigree Booklet.  I used that set to make the little booklet. (Directions to assemble booklet are on Spellbinders website with Filigree Booklet)  Pages were cut from lightweight cardstock.  I used the insert die to cut the slits on some of the pages.

I also cut a gray piece to put inside the front cover with a verse.(see photo below) This die from Swirl Booklet Insert cuts slits for tucking in a photo or verse insert as I've done. 
The design on booklet front was cut using Swirl Booklet Insert.  I really like that the insert has a separate outer edge cutting die so it can be cut for layering or cut as an insert.  I cut the insert with the outer cutting edge.  I used the outer cutting edge alone to cut the aqua paper.  I used Adhesive Sheets 4 x 6 inch applied to back of gray paper (same as cover paper) before cutting the insert.  It makes it so easy to fasten this intricate die cut to the paper behind it!  To make it silver, I rubbed DecoArt Metallic Lustre Silver Spark over it before fastening it to aqua paper.  I like the look of antique metal so I didn't try to make it perfectly covered with silver. Little pearls and rhinestones accent the design.  Before adding the Swirl design to the booklet, I fastened ends of crinkled seam binding (colored with Distress Iced Spruce and Evergreen Bough) to booklet edges using adhesive from E-Z Runner® Ultra Refillable Dispenser.  Back of booklet has aqua paper on it as well to cover end of ribbon.   I made tiny flowers using the smallest die from S6-050 Cinch and Go Flowers and cut out of text weight off white paper.  Each tiny flower is 2 layers and has aqua stamens.  These are fastened to a small piece of cardstock with Adhesive Dots Small and Adhesive Dots Mini.  That's fastened to the booklet with Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix.  I've tucked in a few silver stamens as accent.  The pointed silver pieces were cut  with die that resembles an intricate bow from Swirl Booklet Insert set.  I cut it from gray cardstock, rubbed on silver Metallic Lustre and snipped out the center piece.  It's folded in half and tucked under the flowers.  A tiny little detail but it sure adds a lot!

This die set can easily be used alone or with coordinating with S5-289 Filigree Booklet.

My second project showcases S4-926 Swirl Tags:

Love this set of tags for several reasons!  First the hole die is separate so tag can have a hole or not! Plus each tag has two sizes and can be layered to have border/mat that exactly fits the tag.  And each piece can be used as a separate tag, two sizes!  I've layered the tag on my card with a navy border around verse tag and no hole in tags.  I've accented the ends of the tag with two of the swirly pattern die cuts.  These are so intricate! Tag is fastened to card with Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix.   I used 2 of the swirly accents to make the border pattern along the left edge of the card.  I applied Adhesive Sheets 4 x 6 inch to back of cardstock before cutting.  That makes it easy to apply these intricate die cuts to the border strip.  I really like how it adds to the card!

I've used S6-050 Cinch and Go Flowers to cut the flowers from text weight off white paper (second smallest die)  I colored the flowers with Distress Ink Weathered Wood and Tumbled Glass.  Each one has a center made with Adhesive Dots Small and covered with Distress Antique Linen embossing powder, not heated.  Easy to do!  Flowers are fastened to the card with Adhesive Dots Small and Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix.  Navy leaves were cut using leaf from S5-364 Cotillion Corner.  I rubbed white pigment ink over them.  I like how the veins really show up now. Leaves were fastened with Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix.  A bow of seam binding is tucked behind tag and held in place with Adhesive Dots Medium
