Introducing Shadowbox Vignettes Blog Hop

Sponsored:  As a designer for Amazing Paper Grace, I am provided with dies to create projects.
I'm also a designer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and receive product to use for projects.

3D Depth and Dimension are the order of the day!  Hi there, today we are sharing with you a great new collection by Becca Feeken with Amazing Paper Grace with a blog hop featuring Shadowbox Vignettes.  It is a follow up to her popular 3D Vignettes and at the core of the collection are a set of Shadowbox Frames that will allow you to make a frame any size you can furnish the size paper needed for a frame face width that is 1/2", 3/4" or 1".

Whether you are hanging your kids' artwork on the fridge with a lightweight frame changed out every season or if you are sending your glorious dimensional cards in a frame with a lid - there are so many ways to use these Shadowbox Vignettes dies.  In fact, we think they are a great addition to your crafting toolbox.  If you've looked at the die and cannot quite imagine how it goes together, well never fear, there is a video for that and I'll show it at the end of my post.  The video has extra 3D inspired projects not seen here, so be sure to have a peek or even fast forward to the end.

About 3D Shadowbox Vignettes

Layered Die sets were introduced with 3D Vignettes and people quickly realized you could use them standing alone in cards or you could use them layered together in a diorama.  Shadowbox Vignettes continues the tradition and as you might guess, the layering sets can be used in both Shadowbox Vignettes and 3D Vignettes.  In addition to the 3 core adjustable frames and the four layering sets, Becca has designed a host of embellishments sized to fit your frames as well as your standalone cards.  We're particularly tickled by the easel (necessary to stand a shadowbox frame on a desk) that also transforms into a pocket or a basket.

My Projects For Today

This is what the dies actually look like.

S4-980 Shadowbox Frame with 3/4 Border

S5-391 Lisette Oval Shadowbox Frame

S4-984 Shadowbox Ribbon Threader

S4-982 Cinch and Go IV

S4-986 Filigree Shadowbox Easel and Pocket

The feature I like best about the Shadowbox Frame dies is that they can make any size frame that there's paper big enough!   My frame is 5¾ʺ x 7ʺ, a size I chose to fit the oval. My other project is about 5 x 6ʺ.  Shadowbox Frame with 3/4" Border die makes a 3/4ʺ wide face to the frame.
My Framed Oval Enjoy features ovals cut with Lisette Oval Shadowbox Frame around the verse.  I've popped up the layers with 3D Foam Squares – White Mix stacked double behind large oval.  The cool thing about the smaller oval is that the "spokes" are off set so if second oval is rotated 180 degrees the spokes show through. That's why the gold shows through so evenly! I fussy cut the oval with the verse from a spoked oval.  It wasn't hard.  I used an emery board to even any rough edges.  All the coloring of the ovals and flowers was done with Distress Oxide inks Stormy Sky and Victorian Velvet over Kraft color paper. The little flowers were made with new Cinch and Go IV dies.  Around the face of the frame I've added pieces cut with Shadowbox Ribbon Threader - not just for threading ribbon!  If you peak into the inside corners you'll see a swirly design piece that was cut with a die from Shadowbox Ribbon Threader.  I used the same die to cut the pieces on frame corners and trimmed them to fit. Finishing touches are little pearls, white pearl cotton loops and gold stick pin.

On the back, I made an easel cut from cardstock with Filigree Shadowbox Frame Easel and Pocket die. I simply used the outer edge die for a plain easel. It's fastened with  Home and Hobby Premium Double-Sided Tape ½ʺ Permanent

My second project, Book Gift Box, is  made with S4-980 -  Shadowbox Frame with 3/4" Border along with S5-391  - Lisette Oval Shadowbox Frame and S4-984 -  Shadowbox Ribbon Threader   Photos of the dies are shown above.

My second project, Book Gift Box, is a frame with a cover that opens like a book. I hinged the cover with pieces of seam binding.  The top is decorated with oval cut with die from Lisette Oval Shadowbox Frame .  I've layered pieces cut from gold paper over it.  The larger pieces at ends and sides of oval are from Lisette Oval Shadowbox Frame.  The pieces that fit between were cut with die from Shadowbox Ribbon Threader. I've used negative pieces from those in center under pearls and at  corners of the box. Ties of seam binding hold the box closed.
This photo shows the ribbon hinges along the spine of the Book Gift Box.

Inside is space for a small gift such as a bracelet shown.  There are many small gifts that will fit inside, even a gift card.  It's a beautiful way to present a gift to someone special!

Bright Daisy Frame

Hello friends! Today, I’m sharing a Bright Daisy Frame for a blog hop sponsored by Stampendous®! and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™! What fun! Favorite stamping products and favorite adhesives!
You can find all the details for Day 2 here. And there are prizes!

For my Bright Daisy Frame, I used Stampendous! Cling Daisy Mix stamp set and matching Daisy Mix die set with Spring Micro Glitter and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Girlie Grunge Gauze, 3D Foam Squares and Dodz Mini.

To make this frame, I started with a wood craft frame and painted it soft yellow.  For some texture and a little bit of shabby chic look, I glued Girlie Grunge Gauze to it.  I used Dual Tip Glue Pen to spread a thin coat of glue over frame.  Then I pressed and smoothed a piece of Girlie Grunge Gauze over it.  I trimmed gauze along edges and opening.
Next, I created the flowers.  I used stamps from Stampendous® Cling Daisy Mix set with black ink on white card stock. I colored them with Distress Crayons and blended the colors with water.  Photo shows upper flower and leaf colored with crayons and bottom flower and leaf colored and blended with water.
It’s so easy to cut these out with matching Stampendous® Daisy Mix Die Cut Set!  Simply match the inner edges of die with stamped image, tape in place and pass through die cut machine.  Perfect cut!   I shaped the flower petals at this point while they were still a little damp.
Next, I used Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ Dual Tip Glue Pen to apply glue over pink areas and applied Pink glitter from Stampendous Spring Micro Glitter Set.  Then I added glue over the yellow areas and sprinkled with Sunflower glitter.  For leaves, I used Lime glitter along veins, then added glue along edges and sprinkled with Sunflower glitter.  Upper flower and leaf in photo have one color glitter; lower leaf and flower have 2 colors.

For the flower centers, I applied glue with Dual Tip Glue Pen (so easy to use!) and covered with Stampendous Chunky Metallic Seasonings Embossing Enamel.  I did not heat it. I simply used it as a nice textured flower center!
After flowers dried completely, I applied Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares under center of each flower.  On leaves, I used a small 3D Foam Square near center of leaf and Dodz Mini at base end.

I left the backing on the adhesives while I arranged flowers on the frame.  It was easy then to remove adhesive backing and press each flower or leaf in place!

Thanks so much for visiting!  I hope you’ve enjoyed this Bright Daisy Frame!

A Frame for Meghan

I spent some time creating with my daughter Sarah over the past three days. It was fun to have her visit. She moved to Texas last fall so we don't get to see her very often.

She wanted to decorate some photo frames for some special friends. I was happy to be able to create and visit with her, too! We both really enjoyed the creative challenge and chatting while we worked.

.....a frame for Meghan!

Sarah found this paper in my stash and chose it because red & orange are two of Meghan's favorite colors. We used the red side of the paper for the name, cut with QK Magnolia. We added a band of solid color papers to set it off. The little checked pattern is created with a MS punch along the edge of orange paper, then layered over red. I created the little tag by stamping with white StazOn ink on a clear Hero Arts tag, and adding a piece of red paper glued to the back with glossy accents.

Such fun colors to play with!

I have 2 more to show you tomorrow....
Enjoy!
