Foolish Clown Face

I created this bright, colorful card using the new

Send in the Clowns stamps from Artistic Outpost.

All the paper designs were created with stamps from the set. I used Copic markers to color the clown. I kept the color theme uniform by using the same markers to color the background on the stamped papers.

Here's how I created the back ground paper...

First, I stamped the clown face with Sea Brights Popsicle Orange

Next, I added the horn stamped in Citrus.

Then the verse with Memento Black Tuxedo.

I added the background color last with Copic V17 Amethyst.

Since all the inks I used were water based,

the Copic marker didn't react with any of them.

To create the paper designs at the base of the card...

I first stamped the unicycle with Memento Black Tuxedo

In keeping with my color theme, I next added Popsicle Orange.....

Then, Citrus....

I trimmed the paper close to the design & trimmed it to size for the card.

I also cut along the top of the wheels for 2 separate designs.

I cut the wheel strip in half horizontally.

I colored each strip to coordinate with the clown.

Copic YG23 for the seats, YR04 for the wheels.

A closer look at the clown.........

I used the Colorless marker 0 to move the color away from the verse creating a highlight. I added glossy accents to all the dots on the clown suit for a dimensional interest. It doesn't really show in this photo.

AO Day 3 - Carnival

Today is Day 3 of the Artistic Outpost preview of the new Send in the Clowns stamps!

This elephant balancing on a big ball is just the perfect size for an ATC.

I used the Carnival background stamp for the base of my ATC. I added the unicycle & a little horn (hard to see in the bottom right corner) all stamped in Adirondack Espresso. I stamped & cut out the elephant & ball so I could mount him on foam tape for dimension. For color, I used Copic markers R29, W1, W3, C3, BG05. To create the tiny flags across the top, I cut tiny triangles out of glossy red paper & glued them in place. I used an ATC stamp from AO Mini-Masterpiece for the back . I added the red dots with a stamp from Send in the Clowns using Colorbox Chalk Warm Red ink. Send in the Clowns has been a fun set to use! Another card using the new Artistic Outpost Send in the Clowns stamps.....

This clown reminds me of Bozo.......does that date me?

I used Copic markers to color him. I cut the black circle frame with 2 Spellbinder's circle dies aligned on a magnetic mat to cut both edges at the same time. I used a Spellbinder's Pinking circle to cut the glossy red paper for a rick rack edge. I popped the clown face up with foam tape. Papers are from the Craft Fair collection by American Crafts.

I don't often work with bright red & yellow. A fun challenge!
