Good Morning!
Today I've made a Paper Flowers Headband and Hair Clip using Spellbinders APG Cinch and Go Flowers III – 3D Vignettes . I amazed myself with how pretty these flowers turned out! How cute for a baby or little girl to wear!
The flowers were cut from pale pink cardstock. Here you see the die and cut flowers. For the larger flowers on the headband and hair clip, I used the largest 3 flowers. The flower buds were made with one each of the 2 smaller flowers.
Each of the flowers was colored with Abandoned Coral Distress ink. I applied the ink a bit darker on one side. That's the inner part on the flowers. Both sides were misted with water to make the ink blend into the paper.
Leaves and flower calyx were cut from green cardstock. These were shaded with Peeled Paint Distress marker and misted with water.. The leaves were cut apart to fill in around the flowers.
I forgot to take photos of how I shaped the flowers....sorry.
I use a stylus with large and medium ball ends. I place each flower on a piece of craft foam or an old mouse pad. Then I use the stylus to rub the petal into a cup shape. Becca has a good YouTube tutorial that I watched to learn how to shape the petals. She shows the original Cinch and Go Flowers. The technique works the same for Cinch and Go Flowers III – 3D Vignettes.
I used hot glue to fasten the flowers and leaves to a small piece of green felt for both the headband and hair clip. A few white stamens are tucked in between flowers. The felt was wrapped around the headband and fastened with hot glue.
On the hair clip, the felt is cut to fit the top of the alligator clip and glued in place with hot glue.
Thanks for visiting!
Happy Creating!
Judy
