I'm often asked how I think of a card design, where do I start. Here's how I created this card:

I actually started it on my lunch break. I usually spend my lunch hour at my LSS, Fond Memories. Since I have 1 1/2 hr break, I have plenty enough time to eat & create!

I started with the CHF stamp set & my new Octagon dies. I matched a die to the verse. Then I stamped the verse on a scrap of white paper and cut the octagon. Next, I decided to add the scallop. I checked out the scrap drawer to find a turquoise Bazzill scrap. I love the challenge of using scrap papers as the start of a card! I added the black octagon to define the scallop edge and coordinate with the black ink on the verse.

Then I went searching for DPs to coordinate. The Daisy Chain paper just "fit"! I chose a coordinating dot pattern, too. My lunch break ended then so I took the papers home to finish the card.
Last night, I decided to use the dot paper for the card front. Then I cut a piece of the daisy paper & arranged & trimmed it until I liked the design. I tried it with and without the black edge, finally deciding I liked the mat edge.
I used a Martha Stewart punch, Checker Board, to add the white edging. A ribbon and 3 little Hero Arts gems completed the design.
This design could easily be created with squares or circles for the verse.
Easy to create!
Enjoy!
